The Hard Road Is Dead
Welcome to Heroes & Villains
Hey Substack.
The Hard Road is gone, but I have something better for you.
I posted on The Hard Road for over a year. I was fascinated with self-help, psychology, business, and whatever else caught my attention at the time. Eventually I felt like I had taken it as far as I could, so I stepped back, took a few months off, and thought seriously about what I actually wanted to build.
.
I’m a psychology student, and the question I keep coming back to is a simple one: what separates the people who reach the top from everyone else. Not in talent or circumstance — but mentally. The way they think under pressure, their habits, their obsessions, their blind spots, and what made them who they are — and in some cases, what eventually broke them.
I went through a long stretch of books, documentaries, and podcasts — kings, warriors, businessmen, gangsters, athletes, filmmakers. People who mastered their craft at the highest level, for better or worse. The content was often great, but it had a consistent problem. It stayed on the surface. You’d get the highlight reel but rarely the full picture — rarely the thought processes, rarely the real story behind the rise.
That’s what this channel is going to be. Deep-dive breakdowns of the most compelling figures in history and the modern world, heroes and villains alike. The focus will always be on getting inside the mind of these people and understanding what it actually took to get where they are.
If that interests you, stick around.
